Before you start
- Do not strike guide or tappet bores with driver during removal.
Procedure
- Clean carbon from top surface of guides with wire brush.
- Drive guides out with hammer and valve guide driver.
- Clean guide holes with crocus cloth.
- Place new gasket on intake valve guide; coat new guide outer edge with oil.
- Place guide notch-up in block and press in until stops or protrudes 11/32 inch (8.7 mm).
