Before you start
- Batteries give off explosive gases. Do not smoke near batteries.
- Battery electrolyte can cause severe eye damage and skin burns. Wear goggles, rubber gloves and a protective apron.
Procedure
- Keep battery case clean and dry.
- Make certain battery cable connections are clean and tight.
- Identify positive (+) or negative (–) cable before making connections.
- Always remove negative (–) cable first and connect it last.
