Before you start
- Do not jerk the starting rope.
Procedure
- Work fuel pump priming lever before cranking, then leave it fully inward.
- Adjust manual carburetor choke for temperature conditions; avoid overchoking.
- On non-recoil plants wind start rope clockwise on flywheel sheave.
- Crank engine with a strong, fast pull the full length of the rope.
- Adjust choke as engine starts and gradually open as plant warms up.
