Cummins — Installation

Procedure

  1. 1. Remove gaskets and pipe sealing compound from all
  2. 2. Apply sealing compound and install pipe fittings in
  3. 3. Position the carburetor with new gasket on the intake
  4. 4. Secure the pressure reduction valve to the mounting
  5. 5. Connect throttle linkage and air intake piping to the
  6. 1. Close the main gas supply valve.
  7. 2. Set the carburetor power mixture adjustment valve at
  8. 3. Close the idle adjustment; then open two and one-half ©
  9. 4. Remove the pipe plug and attach a pressure gauge
  10. 5. Remove the pipe plug from teh intake manifold and -
  11. 6. Open the main line gas supply valve.
  12. 7. Adjust the line gas pressure to the “Thermac” pressure
  13. 8. Start the engine, using normal starting procedure.
  14. 9. After the engine coolant aitains operating temperature
  15. 10. Shut down the engine.
  16. 11. Close the main gas supply valve.
  17. 12. Remove the two water manometers and the mercury
