Before you start

  • Note: One of the jam nuts has left-hand threads.

Procedure

  1. 5. Turn the adjusting link to tighten the belt to the cor-
  2. rect tension.
  3. Table # A-02 ~ Alternator Belt Tension
  4. Alternator Belt Tension
  5. Gauge Part No. Tension
  6. ST-1293 (Burroughs) 165 Ib.
  7. ST-1274 (Kriket) 88 Ib.
  8. Note: One of the jam nuts has left-hand threads.
  9. 6. Tighten the jam nuts on the adjusting screw to
  10. 55 Nem [40 ft-lb]
  11. 7, Tighten the adjusting link and alternator mounting
  12. cap-screws.
  13. Torque Value: 1) 95 Nem [70 ft-lb] (Top Cap-screw)
