Before you start

Procedure

  1. 7. Install the fan belt.
  2. 8. install the shock absorber in the fan support.
  3. Note: The shock absorber must be installed with the
  4. larger outer tube of the absorber attached to the fan
  5. hub support. If the absorber is installed wrong, dirt
  6. can enter the tube and cause the part to fail.
  7. 9. Install the flat washer, lock washer, and cap-screw in
  8. the lower end of the shock absorber.
  9. 10. Install the shock absorber on the fan idler arm.
  10. 11. Tighten the two cap-screws
  11. Torque Value: 60 Nem [45 ft-lb].
  12. Thermostat Remove and Install
  13. Preparatory Steps
  14. 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  15. 2, Drain the cooling system to a level just below the
  16. thermostat housing.
