Before you start

  • Note: The other end of the olf inlet hose must be
  • Note: If using a box shroud and a blower fan the fan

Procedure

  1. 7. Loosen the clamps.
  2. 8. Remove the four cap-screws and nuts.
  3. Caution: The component weighs 23 kg [50 Ib] or
  4. more. To avoid personal injury, use a hoist or get
  5. assistance to lift the component.
  6. 9. Remove the turbocharger and gasket.
  7. 10. Discard the gasket.
  8. 11.On newer engines, remove the hose and clamps.
  9. Discard the hose. Check the condition of the
  10. clamps. Discard the clamps if they are cracked or
  11. have damaged threads.
  12. Install Turbocharger:
  13. Caution: Check to be sure the correct turbocharger
  14. assembly number can be found on the data tag that is
  15. mounted on the turbocharger. Many turbochargers
  16. appear the same physically but contain different internal
  17. parts. If the wrong turbocharger assembly is used,
  18. engine performance will be less than specification or the
  19. engine will be damaged due to excessive cylinder pres-
  20. sure and temperature.

  • 3. Install the turbocharger. Push the compressor housing
