From a Craftsman Marine owner's manual covering: CM 2.16, CM 3.27, CM3.27. Check it applies to your exact model before use.

Applies to: Craftsman Marine CM 2.16, Craftsman Marine CM 3.27

Before you start

  • Do not spill oil over the engine; better use a funnel when adding oil.
  • Make sure that no oil is added above the upper mark of the dipstick.

Procedure

  1. Stop the engine and let it cool down before checking the oil level.
  2. The dipstick is on the right side (seen from the rear), between the oil filter and the raw water pump.
  3. Check the level; it should be spot-on or close to the upper mark.
  4. Remove the filler cap on top of the rocker cover at the front, or use the filling entry at the right side.
  5. Add fresh oil of the same specifications, using a funnel.
  6. Check the level again with the dipstick.

Specs & values

  • The difference between the upper and the lower mark is about 2 liters of oil
