G5 — CLEAN AND INSPECT VALVE SEATS

For the G5.

Procedure

  1. Use an electric hand drill with D17024BR Wire Cleaning Brush or equivalent brush to remove all carbon on valve seats.
  2. Check seats for cracks, pits, or excessive wear.

  4. Measure valve seats for proper specifications fisted below.
  5. Using D11010KW Eccentrimeter, measure valve seat runout (D).
  6. If valve seat is not within specification, recondition valve seat by grinding or replace valve seat inserts (A) if reconditioning is not possible. (See GRIND VALVE SEATS or INSTALL VALVE SEAT INSERTS, later in this group.)
