Chrysler — Sensitivity Adjustment

Adjustments · King Seeley governor

From a Chrysler operator's manual covering: IND. 52, IND. 53, IND. 54, IND. 56. Check it applies to your exact model before use.

Procedure

  1. If governor is too sensitive or has tendency to surge, place hollow wrench on calibrating nut.
  2. Insert special adjusting wrench through hollow wrench into adjusting screw and turn screw clockwise one turn.
  3. With hollow wrench in slot of calibrating nut, turn nut clockwise about 1/8 of a turn.
  4. Hold adjusting screw from turning.
  5. Continue until surge is eliminated; engines operate most efficiently when governor adjusted to point that just barely eliminates surge at full throttle.
