Before you start
- Never start with electrical loads plugged in
Procedure
- Ensure generator is on flat, level surface
- Disconnect all electrical loads
- Turn fuel valve to ON position
- Flip ignition switch to ON
- Move choke lever to CHOKE position
- For electric start: press and hold ignition switch to START, release when engine rolls over
- For recoil start: pull starter cord slowly until resistance, then pull rapidly
- Move choke to RUN position after engine starts
