Before you start
- Never start the engine while the hydraulic oil tank is being drained or while the hydraulic oil tank is empty. Excessive wear and damage to the hydraulic components can occur.
Procedure
- Operate the machine in order to warm the hydraulic oil. Park on level ground. Lower the attachment and apply slight downward pressure. Engage the parking brake and stop the engine.
- Press the button on the breaker relief valve in order to relieve any tank pressure.
- Remove the hydraulic tank filler cap and filler strainer. Wash the filler cap and strainer in a clean, nonflammable solvent. Install the strainer.
- Inspect the gasket on the hydraulic tank filler cap for damage. Replace the gasket, if necessary.
- Remove the remote drain plug located on the right side of the machine under the platform. Wash the drain plug in a clean, nonflammable solvent.
- Attach a hose to a suitable drain adapter. Install the adapter in the ecology drain valve and allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.
- Remove the adapter from the drain opening. Close the drain valve. Install the drain plug.
- Change the hydraulic oil filter.
- Fill the hydraulic tank with clean oil to the FULL mark on the sight gauge. Install the filler cap.
- Start the engine and run for at least ten seconds. Stop the engine and add hydraulic oil to the FULL mark on the sight gauge. Install the filler cap.
- Start the engine and run at low idle. Cycle the implements so that all hydraulic systems are filled with oil.
- Add hydraulic oil to the tank until the oil level is at the FULL mark on the sight gauge.
- Stop the engine. Top off the hydraulic tank to the FULL mark on the sight gauge. Install the filler cap.
- Tighten any loose clamps or connections. Replace any damaged hoses.
