Procedure

1. Apply power to the CDVR.
2. Connect a communication cable between the RS-232 connector (J4) of the CDVR and the appropriate communication port of your PC.
3. Start the CDVR PC software.
4. Click "Upgrade" on the "Menu" bar. Click "Upload Embedded Software". If this menu selection is grayed out, close CDVR communication.
5. When "Upload Embedded Software" is clicked, a dialog box appears and verifies your intent to update the firmware. Click "Yes" to proceed.
6. Click the "Get Device Information" button. The "CDVR Embedded Program Loader" will retrieve and display the CDVR model number.
7. Click the "Start Transfer Data" button in order to proceed with software uploading.
8. Click "No" to exit the upload process and create a CDVR settings file, or click "Yes" to continue.
9. Select the appropriate file (.s19 extension) for uploading. Click the "Open" button.
10. If prompted for the serial number, enter the eight (8) numerical digits exactly as they appear on the upper right hand corner of the label on the CDVR. Ignore the letters GD. Press "Enter".
11. Wait for the file transfer progress dialog box to complete.
12. Close the "Embedded Program Loader". The default settings are loaded into the CDVR and are checked.
