Before you start

  • Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Procedure

  1. Start By: Remove the inlet and exhaust valves.
  2. Removal: Remove valve stem seal (1) from valve guide (2).
  3. Removal: Use Tooling (Valve Guide Driver) and a hammer to remove the valve guide from the cylinder head.
  4. Installation: Lubricate the bores for the valve guides with clean engine oil.
  5. Installation: Install valve guide (2) in the cylinder head with Tooling (Valve Guide Driver) and Tooling (Guide Collar), to the correct height (Guide Collar must be used to install to the correct height).
  6. Installation: Install valve stem seal (1) on the valve guide.
  7. End By: Install the inlet and exhaust valves.

  • Valve Guide Driver, Tool 9U-6895
  • Guide Collar, Tool 9U-6894

Specs & torque values

  • Height to top of valve guide from cylinder head surface: 35.00 ± 0.50 mm (1.378 ± 0.020 inch)
