Before you start

  • Be sure the control valve collar is installed with the longer sleeve area up. If installed upside down, engine damage may result

Procedure

  1. Wash the control valves with approved cleaning solvent.
  2. Push a wire into the hole in the base of the valve to the distance required to ensure the ball check is free.
  3. The ball should lift with light pressure on the wire.
  4. If the ball is stuck, replace the control valve.
  5. Dry the valve with compressed air and wipe clean with a paper towel.
  6. Thoroughly clean the control valve bore in the housing using clean paper towels.
  7. Reassemble parts reversing the removal procedure.

  • Wire
  • Compressed air
  • Approved cleaning solvent
