Procedure
- Remove the fuel pump low idle screw; install the seal, washer, gasket and locknut on the switch.
- Insert the switch to about the same depth as the idle screw was.
- Start the engine and check low idle RPM; adjust by turning the switch clockwise to increase and counter-clockwise to decrease RPM.
- Advance the throttle lever to increase engine speed and return to idle; check that the idle RPM setting did not change.
- Hold the Jacobs switch and tighten the lock nut to 5 lbft (7 N·m); reconnect the throttle linkage.
- Connect leads to the proper switch terminals; the brass terminal is positive and follows the wiring diagram.
