Procedure
- Install the Jacobs spacers marked 'B' on the Jacobs studs.
- Place Caterpillar cylinder head bolt washers on the 3/4 inch Jacobs holddown studs and hand tighten the Jacobs holddown nuts.
- Reinstall the Jacobs 3/8 inch capscrew and washer.
- Torque the Jacobs holddown nuts to 60 lbft (81.6 N·m) and the 3/8 inch capscrew to 30 lbft (41 N·m).
- Retorque the 3/8 inch capscrew to 47 lbft (64 N·m) and the Jacobs holddown nuts to 100 lbft (135 N·m).
- Reinspect each fuel line location to ensure no contact between brake components and the fuel lines; reset if necessary.
Specs & values
- Holddown nuts 60 lbft (81.6 N·m) then 100 lbft (135 N·m)
- 3/8 inch capscrew 30 lbft (41 N·m) then 47 lbft (64 N·m)
