Procedure
- 20. Obtain two Ignition Testers (Part No. 19368).
- 21. Remove spark plug cables from spark plug terminals.
- 22. Install free end of spark plug cables onto
- 23. Press and hold MANUAL on control panel to start engine.
- 24. Is spark present?
- A. Yes- Ignition is functioning properly. Move to step 25.
- B. No- Verify spark tester is properly installed and repeat steps 23-24. If spark is still not present,
- 25. Press OFF on control panel and remove 15 Amp fuse.
- 26. Remove tester alligator clips from engine grounds and install on spark plug terminals.
- 27. Install 15 Amp fuse in control panel, and press and hold MANUAL to start engine.
- 28. Is spark present?
- A. Yes- Ignition is functioning properly. Move to Test 12: Check Crankcase Vacuum (step 30).
- B. No- Move to step 29.
- 29. Thoroughly clean area around spark plugs to keep dirt out of the combustion chamber. Remove
- A. Verify spark plug type is RC12YC.
- B. Verify spark plug is in good condition.
- C. Verify spark plug gap is 0.020 inch (0.508 mm).
- D. Are all of the above conditions observed?
