Operation · Voltage Regulator

From a Basler service manual — check it applies to your exact model before use.

Procedure

  1. Start the prime mover and bring up to rated speed. If a voltage shutdown switch is used, close the switch to apply excitation.
  2. Verify the generator output voltage. Note conditions: overvoltage, no voltage build-up, undervoltage, voltage collapses, oscillating voltage.
  3. Adjust the External Voltage Adjust Rheostat for nominal generator output voltage.
  4. Apply a load to the generator.
  5. Verify that voltage regulation is within ±1%.
  6. Alternately remove and apply the load several times to determine if the generator voltage is stable.

Specs & values

  • Voltage regulation within ±1%
