Basler — Operational Test

Testing & diagnosis · Voltage regulator

From a Basler service manual — check it applies to your exact model before use.

Procedure

  1. Move wire on sensing transformer T1 to 120 V tap for SR4A or 240 V tap for SR8A.
  2. Adjust voltage stability potentiometer R4 fully counter-clockwise (CCW).
  3. Connect voltage regulator as shown in Figure 5-1.
  4. Adjust voltage adjust potentiometer for maximum resistance.
  5. Connect regulator to power source. Bulb should flash on momentarily then extinguish.
  6. Slowly adjust voltage adjust rheostat toward minimum resistance. Bulb should reach full brilliance before minimum resistance.
  7. If light does not illuminate, adjust centering adjustment R3.
  8. At regulating point, small change in voltage adjust potentiometer should turn bulb on or off.
  9. Before reinstalling, reconnect sensing transformer T1 as it was before Step 1.

Specs & values

  • Bulb should be 120 V and not more than 300 W
