For the 20--200 kW with Fast-Response X Alternator.

Before you start

  • Accidental starting can cause severe injury or death. Disconnect the battery cables before working.

Procedure

  1. Install the fan guard to the alternator adapter.
  2. Install the alternator (rodent) guard to the end bracket (if equipped).
  3. Replace the junction box panels.
  4. Check that the generator set is OFF.
  5. Reconnect the generator set engine starting battery, negative (--) lead last.
  6. Reconnect power to the battery charger, if equipped.
  7. Restore the generator set to service.

Tools required

  • 1/4 in. drill
  • 11/64 in. drill bit

  • GM94809-KP1
  • 6.2 Nm (4.6 ft. lb.)
