Procedure
- Disconnect breather hose from cylinder head cover.
- Remove cylinder head cover capscrews, washers, and the cylinder head cover.
- Disconnect oil feed tube compression nut from fitting in cylinder head.
- Remove the 3/8" capscrews and lockwashers securing the rocker arm brackets to the cylinder head.
- Remove the 9/16" capscrews and hardened washers securing the rocker arm brackets.
- Remove the rocker arms, shaft, and brackets as an assembly.
- Withdraw the push rods from the engine.
- Disconnect compression nuts; remove oil drain tube and oil feed tube from the end rocker arm brackets.
- Remove cotter pin, spacer washers and spring washer from one end of the rocker arm shaft.
- Slide rocker arms, springs, and brackets from the rocker arm shaft.
Specs & torque values
- 3/8" capscrews
- 9/16" capscrews
