Allis-Chalmers — Replacing Air Cleaner Cartridge (Tube Type)

Before you start
- Do not clean dirty element
- Do not pound center of cartridge
Procedure
- Loosen clamp fasteners in housing, remove vertical air inlet adaptor and rain cap if applicable
- Remove moisture separator or pre-cleaner depending on unit
- Insert fingers into cartridge openings and loosen all four corners, one at a time, by pulling straight out; after breaking seal remove cartridge
- Remove all foreign matter from inside total air cleaner unit and dust discharge valve
- Inspect new cartridge for shipping damage prior to installation
- Install new cartridge into housing; firmly press all edges and corners against sealing flange to effect positive seal
- Tighten fasteners finger tight then turn 1.5 turns with tool in sequence
- Make certain all connections are tight; reset service indicator
