Allis-Chalmers — Fuel Filter or Fuel/Water Separator Renewal

Before you start
- Do not use any tools to tighten filter
- Always use an Allis-Chalmers replacement filter
Procedure
- Remove dirt from around filters
- Close fuel tank shut off valve if fuel level is above level of fuel filter
- Remove filter(s) from base
- Inspect and clean base
- Apply a light coating of lubricating oil to the filter gasket; screw new filter by hand until gasket contacts base, then tighten 1/2 to 3/4 turn more
- Open fuel tank shut off valve
- Prime fuel system
Specs & values
- Tighten filter 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn by hand
