Allis-Chalmers — Fuel Filter and Fuel/Water Separator Renewal

Before you start
- Extinguish all smoking materials or open flames before changing filters due to presence of flammable fluid.
Procedure
- Remove dirt from around filters.
- Close fuel tank shut off valve if fuel level is above level of fuel filter.
- Remove filter(s) from base; inspect and clean base.
- Apply a light coating of lubricating oil to the filter gasket.
- Screw new filter on by hand until gasket contacts base; tighten 1/2 to 3/4 turn more with hand pressure only.
- Open fuel tank shut off valve.
- Prime fuel system.
Specs & values
- Never use tools to tighten filter
- Always use an Allis-Chalmers replacement filter
