Procedure
- Remove battery charging generator drive belt.
- Loosen locknut at rear of fan hub spindle.
- Lower the hub by turning the adjustment screw counterclockwise.
- Remove both old belts and inspect; replace both if either is defective.
- Position new belts on pulley grooves.
- Raise hub and adjust tension by turning the adjustment screw clockwise.
- Tighten the spindle locknut securely.
- Install and adjust the battery charging generator drive belt.
Tools required
- Burroughs Tension Gauge (BT-33-72C) or equivalent Amazon

Specs & values
- New belts: 143-150 lb (65-68 kg) tension
- Retighten when tension drops to 100 lb (45 kg)
- Retighten to 118-124 lb (54-56 kg)
- Hand check: 0.50 in (12.7 mm) to 0.75 in (19.05 mm) deflection
