Procedure
- Bring engine to operating temperature and shut down.
- Drain engine oil pan and reinstall drain plug(s).
- Clean filter head, filter body and surrounding area; remove filter drain plug and drain.
- Loosen body center bolt and remove center bolt, filter body and element as an assembly.
- Discard element and body gasket; wash and dry filter body interior.
- Install new element in filter body.
- Install filter body with new body gasket; tighten center bolt to 45-50 lb-ft (61-68 Nm).
- Install filter drain plug and tighten securely.
- Fill oil pan with specified oil to top mark of dipstick.
- Crank engine 15 seconds without starting, then operate about 5 minutes.
- Stop engine, allow oil to drain back, check level and add oil as necessary.
