Allis-Chalmers — Changing the Coolant Filter Element

From a Allis-Chalmers operator's manual covering: 6138, 685, SERIES 6138, SERIES 670. Check it applies to your exact model before use.
Procedure
- Clean base and surrounding area
- Close both coolant conditioner inlet and outlet valves
- Remove exhausted spin-on element
- Lubricate gasket with thin film of oil
- Install new element until gasket contacts base of mounting housing
- Hand tighten 1/2 turn
- Open inlet and outlet valves
- Operate engine and check for leaks
