Symptoms & remedies

Lead deposits tend to build up in the combustion chambers.Use of leaded gasoline.Use clean, fresh, no lead or low-lead gasoline. Regular grade gasoline may also be used but not highly leaded premium types. For new engines, use nonleaded gasoline. For older engines that have previously used leaded gasoline, remove all lead deposits from the cylinder heads before switching to nonleaded gasoline.
Preignition can occur causing engine damage.Not removing lead deposits before switching from leaded to non-leaded gasoline.
Erratic operation of the generator set.Operating the generator set from a tee in the main fuel line.The set's fuel pump has neither the capacity nor the power to overcome the draw of vehicle engine fuel pump.
