  • Unstable voltage.
    Cause: Speed variation in engine. Regulator out of setting.
    Fix: Check engine rotation. Regulate the stability of regulator by acting on “STABILITY” potentiometer.
  • Stretched poly-vee belt or defective belt tension.
    Fix: Check automatic belt tensioners and check belts for stretching. Replace as required
  • Overheated engine.
    Fix: See “Engine Overheats”
  • No fuel.
    Fix: Check fuel in tank and manual shut-off valve.
  • Lower than rated voltage at load.
    Cause: Voltage potentiometer out of setting. Intervention by protection. Failed regulator.
    Fix: Reset voltage potentiometer. Current too high, power factor lower than 0.8, speed lower than 4% of rated speed. Substitute regulator.
  • Low engine oil level.
    Fix: Check oil level. Add as required
  • Low coolant temperature.
    Fix: Remove and check thermostat; Warm up engine to normal operating temperature
  • Low coolant level.
    Fix: Fill radiator to proper level, check radiator and hoses for loose connections or leaks; Check thermostat
  • Intake air restriction.
    Fix: Service air cleaner
  • Injection pump not getting air or fuel.
    Fix: Check fuel flow at supply pump or bleed fuel system.
  • Injection nozzles dirty.
    Fix: See your authorized servicing dealer or engine distributor
  • Incorrect starting procedure.
    Fix: Verify correct starting procedure.
  • Improper valve clearance.
    Fix: See your authorized servicing dealer or engine distributor
