Hatz 3H50 TI Engine

• The engine does not start or does not start immediately, but can be turned with the starter
  Cause: Hydraulic load too high (especially with multiple hydraulic pumps)
  Fix: Reduce the hydraulic load – if possible
• The starter does not switch on and the engine does not turn
  Cause: Irregularities in the electrical equipment: Battery and/or other cable connections are incorrectly connected
  Fix: Check the electrical equipment and its components or contact Hatz service
• Engine becomes very hot. The engine temperature indicator lights up
  Cause: Contamination in the entire area of the cooling air guides
  Fix: Clean the cooling air area
• Area affected: Low pressure fuel system 2 - 1
  Cause: Maximum water level in the water separator reached
  Fix: Drain water from the fuel prefilter
• Area affected: Liquid cooling 3 - 1
  Cause: Coolant level too low
  Fix: Top up coolant
• The engine loses power and speed, and black smoke emerges from the exhaust
  Cause: Dirty air filter unit
  Fix: Check the degree of dirt contamination of the air filter, and clean or renew it if necessary
• Engine switches off spontaneously during operation
  Cause: The tank ran out of fuel during operation
  Fix: Fill with fuel
• At low temperatures (engine does not start)
  Cause: Oil is too viscous and causes a too low starter speed
  Fix: Change the engine oil and oil filter; Add engine oil with a suitable viscosity class
• Area affected: Pre-glow system 3 - 2
  Cause: Glow plugs cabling faulty
  Fix: Check the cabling
• Area affected: Monitoring of indicator and control elements 1 - 1
  Cause: Indicator(s) or cabling faulty
  Fix: Check the function and cabling of the indicators
• Area affected: Engine oil temperature/engine oil pressure 2 - 3
  Cause: Engine oil pressure too high/too low
  Fix: Check the oil level, top up the engine oil if required; Use engine oil with a suitable viscosity
• Area affected: Air supply 1 - 3
  Cause: Air filter is dirty
  Fix: Service the air filter
• The engine loses power and speed
  Cause: Engine running due to a fault in the emergency run function (instrument box sends flashing signal)
  Fix: Heed the flashing code table; Switch off the engine, wait at least 1 minute, then restart the engine. (This deletes minor errors)
• Indicator for engine fault on the HATZ instrument box is flashing
  Cause: Various errors in different assemblies
  Fix: Use the flash code table to identify and eliminate errors
• Area affected: Speed sensor system 1 - 2
  Cause: Crankshaft or camshaft sensor cabling faulty
  Fix: Check the cabling
